Here an example of a day-long walk in the inner-city of Paris:
The walk through Paris begins, as shown in the map of the city, east of the Seine River and takes you past the cathedral of Notre Dame. You continue on the north-eastern side of the Seine where you will reach the Centre Pompidou, the Hotel de Ville, then on to the famous Louvre and the park called Tuileries. You then arrive at the church of Sacre Coeur.
The next route would lead you to the north-western side of the Seine with the beautiful Place de la Concorde, the Place de la Madeleine. Then you will reach the famous Champs Elysèe with the Arc de Triomphe to continue on to the Palais de Chaillot.
The walk continues south of the Seine leading to St. Germain de Prés, the Place de Invalides, the Palais Bourbon and finally past the symbol of Paris, the Tour Eiffel. The walk ends in Montparnasse.
If you are looking for a place to stay that has fair prices, we advise you to check into a hotel in the vicinity of the inner-city that is connected to the Metro system of Paris. The well-organized subway system will quickly bring you to the inner-city and help you save quite a sum. It is advisable to have a plan of the Metrosystem as well as a plan of the city.
We found a place to stay near the end of the Metroline Nr. 5 in the department of Bobigny. The cost of a double room varies between 50 and 100 Euros for the night.
A map of the city is best acquired through amazon.co.uk.
